Apple Donating Portion of Profit to Fight Against AIDS

Apple, the Cupertino, California based tech giant has pledged to donation part of its sales made from its retail as well as online stores during Black Friday as well as Cyber Monday to the fight against AIDS.

On Monday, the maker of iPhones and iPads made the announcement of the campaign, which will begin on Monday and involves a special area in the App Store that will be call Apps for (RED).

The area is to offer as many as 25 apps whose complete proceeds will be sent to their Global Fund to fight against AIDS.

The Apps sold in that section of the store online will include content to drive sales, which includes free in-app contents, characters, levels developed for games including Angry Birds as well as Bubble Witch Saga.

In a way to mark World AIDS Day for 2014, the company is also going to donate part of its sales in both its online and retail outlets that are generated on November 28 and on December 1 to the AIDS cause.

Those two shopping days known worldwide as Black Friday and Cyber Monday traditionally are thought as the two days of shopping that are the busiest of the entire year across the entire United States.

Tim Cook the CEO at Apple said via a prepared statement that Apple was proud to support RED. Cook added that for the past eight years Apple customers have helped the fight against AIDS by funding treatments that are lifesaving, which have had and continue to have a positive impact.

In 2014, he added the company is launching it largest push for fundraising to date, with Appleā€™s online and retail stores participating, with some of the most talented and brightest App store minds are helping with this great project.

On Black Friday, customers of Apple in the U.S. will receive an iTunes RED gift card when making a purchase of select products of Apple. For each of the cards handed out, Apple is to donate a sales percentage that is not known to this campaign.

Many tech companies and retailers have released the details of their Black Friday as well as Cyber Monday deals.
