Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) will have to announce surprising Q3 2011 results to best Q3 2010 numbers
The company will have a conference call to discuss its third quarter 2011 financial results which will be webcast at 5 P.M., Eastern.
According to guidance issued by Amazon, they are looking for revenue to come between $10.3 billion dollars and $11.1 billion dollars. They are less specific about operating profit and expect that to come between $20 million dollars and $170 million dollars.
Analysts on the other hand figure that EPS will arrive somewhere between a wide range of $0.15 cents to $0.40 cents with the average being toward the low side at $0.24 cents. During Q3 of 2010, Amazon posted EPS of $0.51 cents at the time which was a surprise. Amazon will need to report some large surprise numbers to best Q3 2010 results.
Shares of AMZN stock have done well throughout 2011 trading for the most part, many companies would not mind to having the same performance. AMZN overall has continued to uptrend despite lower earnings performance the past couple quarters (both of which made a draw-down, only to be recovered from).
Express Scripts, Inc. (NASDAQ:ESRX) Q3 2011 earnings estimated to rise above Q3 2010 numbers
The company will announce earnings after the market close and host a quarterly conference call to discuss Q3 results on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at 9:30 A.M., Eastern.
Analysts expect to see the company post EPS anywhere from $0.73 cents to $0.79 cents with an average on the high side at $0.77 cents. Any of these numbers would be an improvement over Q3 2010 when the company posted EPS of $0.65 cents.
So far in 2011, ESRX shares were gradually ranging back and forth until May when a new high $60.89 was reached. After that, shares have been under substantial bearish pressure.
The last time volatility underlining shares of ESRX have been this active is back in 2009 when there was a continuous incline of share valuation that began in the late-April trading. The second half of 2011 trading has seen much of the same, just in the opposite direction and at an accelerated rate, comparatively. For now, ESRX is trading in a consolidated channel between $37.31 to $41.70.
