Auto Gallery, which is based in Woodland Hills, California, is bringing a McLaren Automotive dealership in Scottsdale. The company has leased around 10,000 square feet of space at the corner of in Raintree Drive and 83rd Place in North Scottsdale as the location of the luxury dealership. The North Scottsdale area is already the location of other car dealerships, such as Harley Davidson.
McLaren Automotive is known for its Formula One racing cars. The British auto company also makes luxurious, high performance sports cars that are priced as high as $239,000. The McLaren Scottsdale dealership is scheduled to open in September.
Auto Gallery owns McLaren Dealerships in Beverly Hills, California. It also has other luxury car brand dealerships, such as Audi Fiat, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche, in Los Angeles.
It is an indicator that the economic slowdown across Asia has not discouraged high-end car companies from investing in the region. They are targeting the growing number of wealthy entrepreneurs. McLaren believes that its share of the global shares from Asia will increase to 25 percent in 2013, which was up from 10 percent last year.
The company got the approval from China to open its first dealership in the country. McLaren hopes that this market would double its total Asia sales in 2013. In addition to the dealerships in China, the company plans to add four more in 2014.
McLaren has been improving its dealer network in Asia since opening its first one in Singapore last year. Since then it has opened dealerships in Osaka, Tokyo, Sydney, Hong Kong and Taipei. By September, it would open two more in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
