The leading video community and platform for gamers in the world, Twitch, announced on Monday that Gameloft’s Asphalt: Airborne for the platform iOS would be the first mobile game ever featuring the live streaming functionality from Twitch.
Gameloft will show the broadcasting capabilities of the game during the Game Developer’s Conference, with a live stream event for 24-hours on Twitch.
The game, which is published by Gameloft is a mobile arcade game of racing where players are able to race against real world or A.I. players, while they perform high-speed, dynamic aerial stunts.
This new partnership also unlocks the door for a host of different interactive functions that include streaming ability of your image and voice using the device’s front-facing camera and microphone and monitoring chat from those viewing the stream.
Players will also be able to archive the streams and then share them across the Web or find other streams from players on Asphalt 8 from the app.
To showcase the mobile innovation on gaming, Gameloft will host a live stream event for 24-hours during starting March 17 for a week on the Twitch channel.
The broadcast features a streaming options walk through, interviews involving the development team, giveaways each three hours and a session of Q&A with viewers of Twitch.
The current functionality of Twitch is optimized for iPad Air, iPad Mini with Retina Display and the iPhone 5S. It will be live as part of the #3 Update. The update includes brand new cars and events, along with a new user interface and area, all of which can be obtained through the App Store.
